Well,
Seeing as how the site is going I guess it's time for some of the technical "goodies" to be divulged to the Q-nation.
Q- Why do some people block off the powervalve?
Std A-They believe that what you don't know won't hurt you so "block it off".
Wrong............
The truth is that Suzuki used an auxilary chamber/area w/a governer driven "barrel valve" to open and close the access to this chamber at a specific RPM.
This additional "chamber" affects the timing of the exhaust pulse and effective "tuned length" of the pipe (expansion chamber) making it "tuned" to a lower RPM.
Stock setting is ~4500 RPMs where it transitions (closes)
If we were to set the powervalve so that it closed a little later,,,,,,say 5500-6000 RPMs and then build an a-s kicking mid to top end pipe that came on hard at,,,,,,,,say 6000 RPMs and pulled to 8500 RPMs..........then we would have an open class single that pulled from the bottom all the way to over 8500 RPMs seemlessly..........
...........ingenious, not f-ed up like some would have you believe .
Now geez..........wonder who would know how to do that????
Any of you guys have any Zillas that run like I just described above????
What pipe do you have???
That's all for the moment.....

My PV must be working!
